As the state’s first Latino Senator, Padilla’s appointment raised much curiosity among Californians. His ban on plastic bags and the SKDKnickerbocker deal have also fueled criticism of his administration.

  1. I have tried to leave a message to Senator Alex Padilla, however I keep getting a message about a security breach using his web address and his email address.

My message is simple and to the point. Almost 100% of mass shootings in America, going back to Columbine have been committed by individuals who were either on or coming off of psychotropic drugs. Many administered or ordered by school teachers or school nurses to quell normal behavior by bored students. Anti gun laws only affect law abiding citizens. Criminals by definition do not obey any law except their own. They are above the law.

Education in the proper use and safety of firearms is essential. I was taught that at the age of 11. I am now 81, and never have my firearms have ever broken out of their safe and attacked anyone. So for 70 years my firearms have harmed no humans. The weapon is the individual behind the trigger, not the tool. A person killed by a hatchet is killed by the person swinging the hatched. The hatchet is a tool designed to chop wood. The user is responsible for the proper use of the tool.

Blaming the tool and not the perpetrator, puts everybody in danger. I have three firearms, one since I was 11, a single shot bolt action 22 rifle purchased from Sears & Roebuck and 2 semi-automatic pistols, which have only been fired 2 times at paper targets at a shooting range in a controlled environment.

So please think this over, putting massive numbers of the law abiding public at risk by de neighing them their Constitutional Rights of the 2nd Amendment with laws that Senator Diane Feinstine has stated that the “laws would not have prevented the atrocity that had occurred”.
