Senior United States Senator Richard Burr is an American businessman and politician. He has served as a senior U.S. Senator from North Carolina under the Democrats since 2005.
He was a member of the United States House of Representatives. He is also the dean of the congressional delegation in North Carolina. He is a member of the Republican party. Prior to his political career, he worked for seventeen years in private business with Carswell Distributing.
Burr was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on 30th November 1955. He graduated from the Richard J. Reynolds High School. Afterward, he enrolled at Wake Forest University, where he earned a B.A. in 1978.Â
Subsequently, Senator Richard Mauze Burr worked as a sales manager for a lawn equipment distribution company in private business with Carswell Distributing for seventeen years. He also served as a board member of Brenner Children’s Hospital in North Carolina.
